Our story
RWCmusic was brought to life by owner Rob Cole in 2013 after realising that music lessons simply weren't a priority for many schools. “Why is this?” he asked himself. Is it because parents couldn’t afford the ever rising tuition fee’s? Because schools do not have the budget to purchase instruments? Or perhaps due to the lack of opportunities, children have forgotten about music? Or is it a combination of all the above?
Rob built RWCmusic with the aim to solve all of these problems. But how?! “What if we made music lessons affordable and accessible regardless of your background?” he said. “What if we purchased instruments for the school so that they don’t have to? What if we paid the school a fee that they could use for any future instrument purchases, or to help subsidise lessons for those that need it, giving everyone equal opportunity to learn music?”
This sparked an idea and RWCmusic was born.

Our mission!
At RWCmusic we believe that it is important that children have the opportunity to learn music in schools. Music lessons shouldn’t be seen as a luxury or an unnecessary expense for parents nor schools, it should be seen as an attainable hobby that every child can be involved with regardless of their background or circumstances. Our goal is give as many children as possible the opportunity to learn a musical instrument.
Information for parents
RWCmusic are passionate about giving every child an equal opportunity to learn music in school regardless of their background. We purchase instruments for the school that your child can use if they do not have their own, we also pay the school a fee that they can choose to use to subsidise music fees for those that cannot afford lessons. As well as offering private one to one lessons, we also offer more affordable group lessons.
Parents can contact us directly at rwcmusic@hotmail.com any time, for an update on how their child is getting on in their music lesson and a full report will be given out at the end of the school year along with other school reports.
RWCmusic offer lessons in guitar, ukulele, piano, keyboard, drums, violin, recorder and singing. We hope to be able to offer lessons in a wider range of instruments soon.
What will your child learn?
No two children is the same, and this is especially true in the music world. One child might have a different taste in music compared to their friend and that is what is so exciting about music, there are many different avenues to explore.
Your child will learn the basics of their chosen instrument, the foundation that will allow them to pick their own musical path. Our teachers will teach the songs that the children what to learn, fun songs that they can relate to. We have found that this is the best way to keep the students engaged and interested. They will learn the necessary skills and techniques needed to excel as well as learning to read sheet music all while learning their favourite songs!
If you would like for your child to take their grades, that is absolutely fine too, just let us know!
